Analysis of Pranahuti by Trainers

Introduction

Pujya SriRamchandraji Maharaj of Shahjahanpur, U.P, India, in the article, Method of Training says that "Every transmission from the preceptor, even if given with a lack of confidence in himself, will give light to the abhyasi, whether the latter feels it or not is due to lack of sensitivity, because the one and the same force is working in all of us." (SDG Pg 54, 2006 Edition).

The Institute of SriRamchandra Consciousness is conducting training programs on Pranahuti Aided Meditation, which are of two-day duration at various centers in India and abroad. In the training programs theoretical classes on the principles, meditational methods and other aspects of P.A.M are elucidated along with conduct of practical Meditational sessions by a qualified adept (trainer) of ISRC called as Guided Meditation. In the meditation session, a taste of Pranahuti is given to the practicants and their experiences are recorded.

Pranahuti is an act of internal Divine will of a capable person who is committed to the progress of the aspirant in the spiritual path without any personal/selfish motive. It does not require words or touch. Pranahuti is offering (ahuti) of thought (prana) done through silent suggestions.

In the system of the Natural Path, aspirants are asked to meditate on the heart with a supposition that there is Divine Light without luminosity present in the heart.

Prana is experienced as

  • Happiness -- this is felt as Peace, Joy, Blissful, Contentment, Ecstasy, Good, Pleasant, Satisfaction, Serenity
  • Balanced Condition -- this is felt as Calmness, Quiet, Absorbency, Blankness, , Comfortable, Silent, Single Pointedness, Steady, Stillness

  • Freedom -- this is felt as Relaxation, Freshness, Lightness, Free, Clear, Ease, Expansion, Floating, Purity, Weightless, Emptiness, Solace
  • Life activity -- this is felt as vibrations, flow, jerks, light ( when matter comes in contact with energy), brightness, colours, heat, cool
  • Aspiration -- this is felt as Self less thoughts, thoughts on Goal of Life, confidence to do Practice, thoughts about the divine

Study

This report aims to present the fact that Pranahuti offered by various trainers of the Institute gives the same experience to the aspirants. This case study presents the factual data of meditational experiences of the aspirants who have taken the guided meditational sessions during the training programs from Aug 2002 to July 2007 conducted at Imperience, Hyderabad. During this period, 1116 persons have participated in the guided meditations and 34 trainers have conducted the guided meditations.

The levels from where Pranahuti was offered by the trainers are beyond the scope of this study.

The number of guided meditation reports per trainer varied from 2 to 132 with an average of 33. The percentage of reports who felt the effect of Pranahuti per trainer varied from 77% to 100% with an average of 91%

The feelings recorded were classified into the above five categories of Happiness, Balanced Condition, Freedom, Aspiration, Life Impulse. Since all these feelings are indicative of Prana being felt, they have been put in the Percentage Felt category. For instances where no specific feelings were observed, they have been put in the Not able to express any specific feelings category.

Table 5 gives the details of percentage of reports where the effect of Pranahuti was felt and otherwise.

Conclusion

34 trainers have conducted guided meditation sessions and there are totally 1116 guided meditation reports. 1016 (91%) reports have expressed prana being felt as one of the feelings given above. 100 (9%) reports could not express any specific feelings. This could be due the aspirants lacking in sensitivity and hence could not express their feelings

It is concluded that transmission from any trainer has been felt by the aspirant because the one and the same force is working in all the trainers.
